Mia Jerritt has been a Medical Exercise Specialist and a Post Rehab Technician since 1997. She has been certified through BCRPA since its first course began in 1985 and ultimately became a trainer of trainers with the Association. She was the first ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified Personal Trainer on Vancouver Island and one of the first in BC. She has been certified as a Sports Conditioning Specialist through the Play Strong Institute in Texas and a Reebok Spin Instructor since 1997.
Mia's newest accolade is as an instructor for the prestigious American Academy of Health, Fitness & Rehabilitation Professionals (AAHFRP) teaching medically based exercise certification courses to fitness professionals throughout North America.
For nine years, Mia was the co-owner and motivation behind the highly successful health and fitness facility, Fitness Excellence in Courtenay, BC. The facility boasted close to 8,000 square feet of creative, interactive, leading edge fitness, including spinning, osteopathy, a rehabilitation centre complete with physiotherapy and kinesiology, WCB and ICBC programs, massage therapy, cappuccino bar, day care, pro shop and post rehab programs. It was here that Mia showcased her creative programs designed to improve people's quality of life-regardless of age, condition, fitness level and regardless of whether they were exercising outside, at home or at her gym.
Mia has been tirelessly committed to people's health through education, rehabilitation, motivation, inspiration, compassion and most importantly humour. She is dedicated to creating leading edge programs in order to benefit the health of others. It is with her direction and motivation-along with your dedication and determination-that your fitness success can be achieved.
Along with her commitment to the health of others, she is passionately devoted to her own health and is an active cyclist, runner, mountain biker, swimmer, and participates regularly in multi-sport endurance events.
